Sollicited speakers: the four speakers had nice and well prepared presentations (although too long) which covered from micro to macroscale and integrated physics-chemistry and biology, so matching with the focus of the session. All them received questions from the audience.
Non-sollicited speakers: the two presentations were excellent and outstanding, given that the speakers were young.
Attendance: Room 19 was filled at about the 75% of its capacity.
Prevision for next year: On 2005 our session included 4 communications from the session convened by Dr. Laurent Seuront (OS19, Biophysical couplings in aquatic ecosystems) which was cancelled due to this low participation. Thus, for the next EGU'06 we have invited Dr. Seuront to participate in our session as co-convenor. This can reinforce the consistency of our session, but the attendance should not be much higher. Room 19 should be enough for EGU'06.
Posters: It was difficult to maintain the continuity between the oral and the poster session given the big physical distance between them. However, it was a nice poster session, with a good number of people talking around the posters. Of course, the additional handicap is the overlapping with the many other interesting oral sessions. But this is almost impossible to avoid. It would be easier to locate the posters closer to the presentation room, like Foyer A, although I am aware of the entraining difficulties.
To be improved: the convenor of the session (i.e. myself!) was unable to control the length of the sollicited speakers presentations. The main problem was that the session extended over the coffee break and the presentations of the next session had a short time to prepare. An alarm clock, as used in other sessions, will help next year to keep on time.
