Information - SSS2 Micromorphology of soil- and palaeosoil development (co-listed in CL & CR)
Event Information
The analysis of soil development provides a powerful means of understanding the dynamic evolution of many terrestrial landscapes. Within such a framework, micromorphology fulfils a key role by unravelling complex features, properties and processes associated with the development of soils and palaeosols. The aim of this symposium is to address methodological issues concerning the use of micromorphology as an investigative tool and also to consider case studies from different parts of the world where
micromorphology has been used to resolve present-day and past soil
development issues.
Preliminary List of Solicited Speakers
G. Stoops (new findings on the micromorphology of volcanic soils)
P. Kuhn (The potential of combining micromorphology and luminescence dating)
